Welcome to VERBE for the PocketBook II / Psion 3a or 3c
=======================================================

HEY THERE!
==========

Thank you for downloading Verbe for your organiser. You may now have,
at your immediate disposal, a host of regular and irregular French
verbs in the three most common tenses. Never be stuck again for how
to conjugate a verb!

Let me know if you have any suggestions or comments.

ZIP FILE PASSWORD
=================
All of the files in this Zip file, except this file, are encrypted.
Registered users of Verbe will have been given the password. This has
been done to permit the PocketBook II / Psion 3a version of Verbe to
be offered as a simple download.

INSTALLING - MANUALLY
=====================
Copy the file "Verbe.opa" into the "APP" directory of any suitable
storage device.

In that same directory, create a subdirectory called "VERBE", and
copy here the file "Verbs.dat".

If you have an earlier version already installed, the files
"Irregu.dat", "Regular.dat", and "Verbe.pic" are no longer
required and may be deleted.

It will look something like:

  A:\
   |
   |--- APP
   |     |
   |     |--- other applications
   |     |
   |     |--- VERBE
   |     |     |
   |     |     '--- Verbs.dat           <-- verb data
   |     '--- Verbe.opa                 <-- main program
   |
   |--- DAT, OPD, OPO, etc...
  etc

Press Acorn-I (or Psion-I) to install the software in the usual way.

You do NOT need to install "Convert.opa" unless you need to convert
verb data from the PC version of Verbe.

INSTALLING - AUTOMATICALLY
==========================
Extract the contents of this archive. Click "My Psion" with the RIGHT
mouse button and choose the "Install new program" option. Go to where
you extracted the files and select the "verbe.ctl" file.

SIS/Epoc installer will now install Verbe for you.

Press Acorn-I (or Psion-I) to install the software in the usual way.

Note: The automatic install does not install the Convert utility.

REGISTRATION KEY
================
Verbe does not (currently) require you to enter your Verbe
registration key. It will run immediately. Please be responsible and
DO NOT give copies to friends or make it available on a website.

Verbe does not write to the data files, so it should be safe to place
the files (and the application) on to FlashROM SSDs.

MEMORY REQUIREMENTS
===================
To run Verbe, you will requires 20K (for the software), plus the 11K
claimed by the OS for screen buffering.

UPDATING YOUR VERBS
===================
This should not be necessary unless you add new, custom verbs to
the PC version of the software.

You can keep Verbe in sync with your copy running on a PC. Simply
copy the four files from Verbe on the PC into \APP\VERBE:
  Regular.vrb
  Irpresnt.vrb
  Irpascmp.vrb
  Irfuture.vrb
Then run the "Convert.opa" software.

NOTE: It assumes the path is relative to the default disc. If you
have placed Verbe onto an SSD, and the default disc is not that SSD,
make it so for the duration of the conversion...
Otherwise, this is likely to need to take place on the internal disc.

There is a walk-through of performing this conversion on the website.
