Verbe 0.01d (series 5) 2007/01/08
==================================

THANK YOU
---------

Thank you for choosing to install Verbe on your series 5 organiser.
I hope that you find this software useful.

Let me know if you have any suggestions or comments.

ZIP FILE PASSWORD
-----------------
All of the files in this Zip file, except this file, are encrypted.
Registered users of Verbe will have been given the password. This has
been done to permit the Psion 5/5mx version of Verbe to be offered as
a simple download.

INSTALLATION
------------

Sorry, I would like to supply you with an .sis file, however the ones
that are created by "makesis" report "Access denied" when I try them
on the emulator. I don't know if this is an emulation issue or not,
as I don't have a real series 5.

Therefore, we'll have to do this the hard way. Best done with PSIWin2.

1. Go to the application directory. This should be:
     C:\System\Apps
   on your organiser.

2. Create a new directory, "Verbe".

3. Into this directory ("C:\System\Apps\Verbe"), copy the following
   files from this archive:
     IrregularVerbs
     RegularVerbs
     Verbe.aif
     Verbe.app
     Verbe.mbm

4. That's all. Verbe should now be available from the Extras bar.

SUPPORT
-------

There is no official support for this product because it was written
using an emulator and not with a real series 5, however if you should
encounter a problem - please drop me an email and I'll look into it,
but note that I am unlikely to be able to fix problems that arise due
to differences between emulation and "the real thing".

KNOWN DIFFERENCES
-----------------

This version of Verbe is slightly different in operation to that
provided for the series 3. Notably:
  1. All Acorn-# (or Psion-#) keypresses are now just the key by
themselves. For example, if the documentation (for the older
version) says "Please press Acorn-T to change tense", just press
     the 'T' key.
Does the series 5 have an additional modifier key? It wouldn't
appear to, going by the emulator!

  2. The software does not follow all of the guidelines for good
operation on the organiser. It follows a rough conversion from
the series 3 methods. One difference you'll notice is that if
you call up Help, it will say NOTHING about Verbe. Instead, you
should press the 'H' key for basic 'help' as was provided on the
     earlier version.

  3. Akin to the earlier version, the two entries that begin with
accented letters ("ecrire" and "etre") appear at the END of the
list. This is because the character code is 'high', so the sort
will place them last. There are plans to implement a method that
will sort correctly (on the series 3), however no method has yet
been found that operates at a satisfactory speed. I am looking
into the idea of sort-once during data file creation.
In any case, this issue has been copied over in the series 5
     version of the software...
